Civil Case Management
SQN assesses the commercial and strategic position, structures the route forward and manages a defined dispute through clear stages and decision gates.
The Civil model
A dispute is more than a legal question. It is an evidence, cost, recovery and decision problem that must remain commercially proportionate.
SQN brings those elements together: assessing the matter, developing the strategic and commercial structure, examining evidence and recovery, coordinating the required lawyers and specialists, managing cost and funding requirements and reviewing continued viability as the matter progresses.
How a matter moves through SQN
Every case is different. The way we manage it is structured.
We understand the dispute, the people involved and what matters most.
We look at the facts, potential recovery, risk and whether SQN is the right fit.
The scope, commercial model, funding route and next stage are made clear.
Evidence, options, costs and the likely path forward are brought together.
Investigation, negotiation and positioning can begin before greater escalation is needed.
Lawyers, counsel, experts and other professionals are brought in when required.
Settlement, determination, enforcement or another appropriate outcome is pursued.
The agreed recovery route is completed and the matter is formally closed.
Stage-gated progression
A matter proceeds only where continued merit, proportionality, funding and strategic justification remain. Not every matter passes through every stage.
Understand the facts, evidence, opponent, recovery position, urgency and available routes.
Where justified, coordinate more substantial professional, procedural and strategic activity.
Prepare for settlement, final determination, enforcement or recovery where required.
What SQN manages
SQN maintains the connection between strategy and execution, so individual workstreams do not drift apart.
Facts, documents, risks and recovery prospects are tested in context.
Independent specialists are appointed against defined work and authority.
Requirements are planned and controlled; funding is considered separately.
Each next step is tied to purpose, proportionality and the latest position.
Commercial structure
The SQN structure may include assessment or management fees, third-party professional costs and agreed participation in a realised recovery. Full terms are documented before substantive work progresses.
A client may fund the matter or particular stages directly.
Approved private capital may be coordinated for a specific case requirement.
A matter may use a blend of client and external funding where approved.
Funding is assessed separately, is never automatic and is subject to approval, documentation and funds becoming available.
Initial review
Share the situation at a high level. SQN will consider whether it potentially fits the Civil model.
