Clear information
We use personal information only where there is a lawful reason and retain it only for as long as it is needed.
01 / Controller
Who we are.
SQN Global Limited is the controller of personal information covered by this notice. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 07868444.
Our registered office is Lincoln’s View, Oak Green, Stanley Green Business Park, Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire, SK8 6QL. You can contact us about privacy through our enquiry page or by writing to this address.
This notice applies to visitors to this website and to people who contact, enquire about or interact with SQN. If a separate notice is provided for a particular relationship or service, that notice may also apply.
02 / Information
What we may collect.
Your name, contact details and organisation.
The enquiry route you select and information about the type, urgency and commercial significance of the situation.
Your description of the matter, including whether proceedings or other professionals are involved.
Communications with you and records of steps taken in response.
Basic technical, security and usage information produced when you use the website, such as request and device information.
Information about another person if you choose to provide it.
Do not send privileged documents, extensive evidence or unnecessary highly sensitive information through the enquiry form. If information about health, legal claims, alleged offences or another sensitive matter is necessary, we will handle it only where the law permits and the information is relevant to the purpose.
03 / Purpose
How and why we use it.
Assess and respond
We review and triage enquiries, communicate with you and decide whether and how SQN may be able to help. We generally rely on steps taken at your request before entering into a contract and on our legitimate interests in managing enquiries.
Manage relationships
We administer any resulting professional, client, funder, supplier or referral relationship and keep appropriate operational records. The applicable basis may be contract, legitimate interests or a legal obligation.
Protect SQN and others
We maintain website security, prevent misuse, establish or defend legal claims and meet legal, regulatory and compliance obligations. We rely on legitimate interests or legal obligations as appropriate.
Handle sensitive information
Where special category information is necessary in connection with a legal claim, we may rely on the condition for establishing, exercising or defending legal claims in addition to an applicable lawful basis.
We do not make decisions about you that produce legal or similarly significant effects using solely automated processing. Creating an internal task from an enquiry is an administrative step and the enquiry is reviewed by people.
04 / Recipients
Who we may share it with.
Access is limited to people and organisations who need the information for a legitimate purpose. These may include:
authorised SQN personnel;
enquiry management, website hosting, security and information technology providers;
independent professionals and advisers where it is appropriate and lawful to involve them; and
courts, regulators, law enforcement bodies or other authorities where disclosure is required or permitted by law.
We do not sell personal information.
05 / Transfers
International processing.
Some service providers and their subprocessors may process personal information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, we require an appropriate transfer mechanism or safeguard, such as an adequacy regulation, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to standard contractual clauses, or another lawful safeguard.
You may contact us for more information about the safeguards relevant to your information.
06 / Retention
How long we keep it.
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to assess and respond to an enquiry, manage any resulting relationship, preserve appropriate records and meet legal, regulatory, accounting, complaint or claims obligations.
The period depends on the nature and outcome of the enquiry, the sensitivity of the information and the legal requirements that apply. Records are reviewed and securely deleted or anonymised when they are no longer needed.
07 / Your rights
You remain in control.
Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction of use, transfer of information, or to object to particular processing. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where consent is the basis used.
Right to object
You have the right to object to processing based on our legitimate interests. We will stop unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds to continue or the processing is needed for legal claims.
These rights are not absolute and the response may depend on the reason for processing and applicable legal exemptions. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
08 / Security
How we protect information.
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information and limit access to those who need it. No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so please use the enquiry form only for the high-level context requested.
If you provide information about another person, please make sure you are entitled to do so and, where appropriate, make this notice available to them.
09 / Website data
Cookies and analytics.
No optional analytics or advertising features are enabled on this website. Essential technical processing may occur to deliver and protect the website. If SQN introduces analytics or other non-essential technologies, we will update the information provided and request consent where the law requires it.
The enquiry form uses browser session storage (sqn-enquiry-attempt-v1) to retain your original answers and submission reference while receipt is unconfirmed. It is cleared after confirmed success or when that browser session ends. Cookie settings do not erase or resend an unfinished enquiry.
When you choose Save essential-only settings, browser local storage (sqn-cookie-preferences-v1) records the essential-only setting and save time on that browser. No optional category is switched on by this control.
